Benjamin Völksen is one of the newest contributors to the globally respected iF DESIGN AWARD. In his role as a speaker, he is primarily responsible for relations between award participants and organisers and represents the organisation on various matters. Before joining iF, he worked extensively in the sociocultural field and spent more than ten years as a freelance DJ and record label manager.
Alongside his studies in media management, he worked for the renowned German audio manufacturer Sennheiser, contributing to the market launch of the Sennheiser HE 1, the world’s most expensive headphones, and the company’s collaboration with Dior.
Drawing on his experience as a brand manager and his diverse professional background, Völksen is primarily responsible for providing strategic consultancy to companies at iF Design. This involves preparing companies to participate in the awards and, where necessary, incorporating their participation into a long-term strategy. Design trends and the Design Trend Report produced by iF aim to support companies throughout their design processes and strengthen dialogue between participants and iF Design as an organisation.
